This place was horrible. We paid $16 for a piece if over cooked fish on a scoop of rice. Pitiful! The service was poor as well.

First time here. Traveling from Santa Barbara, CA and stopped in for a steak. The medallions of filet mignon were prepared perfectly. The carrot cake for dessert was homemade goodness. Kelsey, the server and Debbie the manager couldn't have been friendlier. Not sure why former reviews were so negative, but my food and experience was great!

Best Cuban sandwich ever. My husband said the Cuban at Michael's on Main is the best sandwich he has ever had. Amazing pulled pork with a spicy, flavorful horseradish....oh my! I can't wait to come back to Cañon City next year to have the Cuban again. I won't soon forget this awesome sandwich. Earlier this week, I had the chef salad with a homemade cherry balsamic dressing. It was delicious! My daughter had the "grilled cheese". It had bacon & avocado with 3 cheeses. It was so good! The atmosphere is lovely, and the service is excellent. Do not leave Michaels on Main without visiting the art gallery & boutique upstairs. It is a must see!

Yummy, healthy, perfectly-seasoned food. Our family loved the chocolate and gelato too!

Interesting place. Part lunch place, part coffee bar, part candy store, part art gallery -- and they advertise a limited dinner menu. Decor is interesting -- at least three different theme areas --- but all lively, bright and clean. The candy we got was great and the prices seemed very reasonable. Highly recommended for that. I don't drink coffee so cannot comment on that. I would not go back for lunch. My salmon salad had little pieces of stuff that looked like hash and that did not taste like much of anything. Others with me were nicer about what they had but none seemed eager to go back. Stop by for candy and coffee -- or try their breakfast menu -- or maybe just get there on a different day.

Stopped for breakfast and it was the servers first day. She was in the weeds the entire time, but friendly. Why did she have tables on her first day? And the decor gave me a headache. Is it a coffee shop, kitsch antique store, bakery, candy shop, restaurant?

Had dinner for four on Aug 26, 2013. Nice decor, very good food and service. Friends had rib eye steaks which were cooked to perfection and juicy. Our dinner was appetizers and desserts........nice! Highly recommend this surprise, classy restaurant in a small Colorado town..

Great atmosphere, awesome apps, lunch, and dinner. Homemade (?) ice cream and a wide variety of chocolates. If you're in Canon City or passing through it is a must!

We had dinner at Michael's on Main for our Anniversary. The food was great, large portions and the prices are very reasonable. We had the gelato after dinner and it was amazing. We had walked by the restaurant the day before when we were shopping, but did not stop in because it looked like a "fancy restaurant" but there is a coffe shop, a whole display case of chocolates and a whole area with gelato. It is a shame that from the front you would not know that this restaurant has all the other items tucked in the back. You don't have to eat dinner to enjoy the other items, but that isn't very clear. There is also a wonderful art gallery upstairs.

I had lunch here 8 Spt 12 and loved it. Great find for just passing through & taking a chance. Good menu selections, wonderful salad & 'to die for' carrot cake & coffie. The young man serving was excellent.

Things have seriously improved lately. The updated menu is awesome! Even the new floor plan is more inviting. Right in the center of town - easy to find.

Excellent food and service! All three of our meals were very well prepared, seasoned and presented. Definitely a must do for anyone who values great food.

This was recommended to us by locals. The food and the service ( Danielle !) was absolute perfection. Our group had the beef tips, prime rib and roughy...all exceptional. Fish is flown in fresh, beef is from Matheson, CO and veggies are locally grown. We will be back as soon as we can.

Pretty good food, gelato is great! In this ghost town, they seem to be the best restaurant around. You feel as though you are sitting in a decent restaurant in a college town. Kind of eclectic.

Great food - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Also some of the best coffee in Canon City. A nice gallery and gift shop and decadent chocolates! Gelato too.

The new chef at Michael's is amazing. Creative new menu is wonderful . Service was great. Friendly, attentive staff. This upscale, but not too pricey should be on everyone's list of places to eat in Canon City. After dining visit the upstairs boutique with cute clothes and fine art work. Also lots of beautiful jewelry from local artist. This is one stop you should see in Canon City.

What a wonderful find in the middle of old downtown. Delicious fresh salads and sandwiches with locally grown ingredients, giant portions, and a very cute ambience with art and small gifts.

We had a delightful lunch here today. The steak sandwich was huge, as was the excellent chef's salad. Doggie bags all around! Sweet potato fries are superior. It is hard to get them crisp, but here they are. Perfection! Excellent service, and the restaurant has a very nice, subdued, ambience. We were very pleased. If we lived here, we'd be regulars!

Food is really good. Had the Baja fish tacos...very good. Owners stopped by to see how everything was - nice people. Highly recommend.

We had lunch here today, and enjoyed it. The kale caesar salad is yummy. They have some unusual combinations of toppings for burgers and my husband's burger was delish. Portions are large and service was good.

We live in Canon City and Michael's is by far on of the nicest restaurant in Canon City with its unique décor. I just wish the food was as good as the décor. We ate there last night, hadn't been there in awhile and they had cut the dinner menu by a third. My husband got the Catalina chicken and when it came it looked like a child's plate, 5 small slices of chicken ( with sauce ) and about a half a cup of white rice, that with the small dinner salad was it. I had the seafood gratin that came with a small side of pasta in oil no cheese and again a small dinner salad. Oh we also got a small loaf of bread, the bread was very good. We also had a cheesecake dessert and I bought a few chocolates. None of what we had wanted us to have it again, Their food never was 5 star but at least before you had menu options and got full. For my money I'll go to Mr. Ed's, it may be a café but he food is better, cheaper and you get more of it !

We go here for lunch quite a bit. The sandwiches are always tasty, but the gelato for dessert is what seals the deal! Nice art gallery upstairs as well.

We tried this new restaurant. It's a sandwich shop that also has 1 dinner special each night. The special the night we were there was a baked chicken dinner. It was very tasty. One of the people with me had a reuben sandwich. Again very tasty. This restaurant has an interesting set-up. The dining area is broken up by pieces of art and bookcases filled with pottery. It's a cute, eclectic restaurant.

What a surprise !! This is the nicest restaurant in town. The food is awesome, service friendly and atmosphere is beautiful. This place is a gem in this small town. We ate there for breakfast and lunch the same day. They have fresh made chocolates, candy, gelato, a wine tasting room, ary gallery and wonderful food. Yum !
